    Climbing stands and longbows?

Anyone use a climbing treestand and hunt a longbow?

I've got an area where a climber might be nice but I like to stand and be close to the tree, I don't like gun rails and other stuff out in front. Are there climbers that meet that criteria?

I've looked at some with small seats like the hand climbers from LW or XOP. Maybe a Summit Openshot

Get a hand climber. They are a little bit harder to climb with, but once you are up there, they are way better to hunt out of. They don't have the rail to get in the way of your bottom limb.

Here is an example of one:

I had a Summit Viper and there was no way to shoot sitting down. Standing was OK unless you were shooting straight down, then you had to be very careful or the bottom limb would hit the support rail.

i don't hunt with a long bow, but i plan on buying a LW sit and climb 2. sit/climbing bar stores away under your legs once you are at hunting height...

I have a summit open shot that I like. I haven't had any problems shooting a longbow out of it

I used to use a summit open shot with my recurve....and then i realized hang ons suit my needs much better. Killed deer and pigs from the climber though.

I use a summit with the guard around it.
I set it up to where when I stand up to shoot, the arm bar is down around my knees.
It has never been a problem
