    # of Feeders

I have 500 acres in Hamilton County, and I currently have 9 corn feeders running twice a day. After hunting this past weekend and only seeing a few deer, I am wondering if this is too many feeders and is spreading the deer out too much?

    Thanks

Rain? Acorns? That's roughly 56 acres per feeder. You could put two on certain stand locations.

We have 3 feeders on 330 acres. We still some if the same deer at each feeder.

I would say too many. I have 4 on 1100 acres, and thought that was too many to keep full.....

There has been average rain this year, and there are tons of acorns on the property. I have several trail cam pics of big bucks at the feeders (at all times of the day).

Could be a combo of things then. They could be concentrating mostly on acorns, it could be how you enter and exit your stands, or it could just be the good ol October lull and you need that first good cold front. Having a lot of food is never a bad thing.

That is a lot, but I wouldn't say too much. I'm not familiar with Hamilton county though. I'm not sure of the cover, range, or game density on your property. Personally, I would try to stay around 100 acres/feed area, and would go any less than 50 acres/feed area.

                  Thanks

Are you running cameras on any of your feeders?

Yes I have cameras on all my feeders, it looks like the same deer moving around the property, I just wonder if because there are so many options its spreading them out thin.

I have two on 40 acres. And 3 hand corn spots.

I think the moon, weather and acorns might b affecting you.

I could be way off but I thought I heard once before you should have 1 feeder per 100 acres. I have 2 on 300 acres and have pictures of the same deer at both pens.

Moon, heat, wind, acorns and too many feeder choices are keeping you from seeing deer

is there really a magic number of feeders per acre?
What if that 500ac is next to a 2000ac...how many on that 2k?
what if that 500ac is next to a 100ac...and that 100ac has 5 feeders! and keeping the deer there?

                            lots of ???

I say put as many as you can afford....hahaha
