    Ciervo Ranch in Lampasas, Tx

Has anyone ever hunted the Ciervo Ranch in Lampasas? The prices look affordable and I am going crazy over not being able to hunt much this year. Any feedback would be appreciated, or suggestions on affordable exotic hunts close to Austin. I have never hunted an exotic and looking for a hunt in the next couple months.
    Thanks

What type of hunt are you looking for if you just wanna kill an exotic there are tons of places that offer competitive pricing for that but these days it's not much of a challenge. Call mark Watson with muti point outfitters he has many ranches available for exotics whitetail a etc that he guides on etc and can customize a hunt to your budget and expectations. You can look up muti point outfitters on Facebook.

I just wanna be able to get out in the woods and hopefully get a shot opportunity, not looking for a fancy lodge and wait staff. Id love to shoot a big axis buck but would be just as happy with a doe. I don't have a Facebook account, is there a website?

I know it may be a bit to far, but Extreme Bowhunting in Bracketville is both very affordable and a great hunt. It is not super fancy but it is comfortable and it offers great opportunity for success. I hunted with them in Dec and will be booking a return trip later this year.

KJO is affordable, close to Austin (about 2.5 hours) and I don't think I've ever heard a bad thing about them. Search KJO and you won't find anything except very positive reviews from TBH members

If the prices at Ciervo Ranch are as advertised, you can't argue with those. $1,400 for bison is pretty good. I'd throw down that kind of money for one of those and not have to buy meat for a year or 2.

Exactly, I'm looking at the Axis doe or maybe even a blackbuck for $1250. Seem like good prices. I didn't even notice those bison prices the first time.

Might want to try DB Hunting in Bertram - only 45 mins north of Austin and has really reasonable prices...I"ve hunted there 4 times.

I really didn't want to post to this as this is a little get a way that few know about... But I have gotten a lot from the GS. i have been 2 times. Roger is a good dude and have a wide variety of animals. The ranch is broken up into 2 parts. Front part is where the bunk house is and it has all the rams. He has a variety and most are decent sized. Touch pricey for me, but look worth it.

The high fence part is small, maybe 2-300 acres. But it is not over run with stands. He has maybe 3-4 for rifle, and 2-3 set ups for bow. The HF portion is not exactly set up for archery, but I try every time.

To the animals... He doesn't have herds of all, but a few of each(except rams).

Blackbuck. You should expect 18-20 inches as his trophy. I have not seen bigger.
Axis- he has 1-2 that are good size. Maybe 32-34. Very hard to pattern. He had cameras in the for the weeks leading up to our hunt and they didn't show up the same while we were there.
Buffalo- had 3-4 last time I was there and was not selling them.
Had 2 nice bull elk with 1-2 cows and a calf. Big bull might be 6x6.
Has nilgia and aoudad but never saw one near a feeder.

To me it seems like this is a place that he runs so he and his family/buds have a place to hunt. He has a ton of regulars, and takes new people as they come.

It's a pay for what you shoot. If you don't take something he charges 50-100 bucks per night.

If you have a specific question... Ask me.

As I said, roger is a great guy.
