    Cabin Rebuild

I'm having trouble trying to figure out what the best route would be to re-build a cabin at our property, first of all, its a 12x23 cabin, it has old sheetrock on wall's and ceiling. it has been up for more than twenty years, and racoon's and rat's and mice have gotten all in there and tore it up over the years. I know i'm going to rip all the sheet rock out, after that i plan on securing the outside to keep all animals out, but what to put back up? sheet rock? I'm not very familar with hanging the stuff, and there is no water out there. so my question is what would be the best wall and ceiling to go with? any suggestions? I know i want something that will give a cabin feel, but not break the bank. Plywood? sheet rock? something that i have not thought of yet? Thanks for the help. if i can find some pictures i will post, and i also plan on keeping the G.S. posted during this process.

i WOULD DO PLY WOOD ON THE WALLS, INSULATE THE CEILING AND USE SOME CORRUGATED TIN FOR THE CEILING....

Will the tin sag? And as far as the ply wood, what thickness?

OSB on the walls might be cheaper. The tin will not sag if it is nailed properly.

We are currently remodeling a couple rooms at our cabin. Osb on the walls were the cheapest we came up with. The tin on the ceiling sounds like a great plan I'm planning on doing now

Can you seal the osb? What do you use?

Ours is a 16 x 40, we did our inside walls and ceiling with OSB, I found some with a clean
side with no ink or lines on it. I trimmed the windows and doors with cedar fence pickets.
Looks more like a cabin with this, then sheet rock, plus, can hang anything anywhere.

That looks really good, did you refinish this cabin or was it a new build?

We had the shell built, then we had an electrician wire it, we insulated and finished it out. It has a dearborn heater in it and a BIG window unit for summer trips. Its on our place, so we did it right. 2 layers of 3/4 plywood on the floor, with roofing felt between layers. Still some more stuff to do, but its very comfy. No plumbing...... yet.

I finished the shack out with old wood fence. It was pretty cheap.(Free) and made a nice interior.
