    Trad Virgin

    Made you look!

I've joined the traditional group as of today. Thanks to Bobby (roysmoke) for the beautiful bow. Thanks Mr. Sarrels for making a wonderful Blueridge which I'm now the proud owner. Also, thanks for allowing me to bounce a handful of questions off you. The ten twists set the brace height perfectly.

I'll be chasing some wood arrows soon - so point me towards a source for that if it's something we can do via mail (unless it's in the Houston area).

Congrats and welcome to the "Blueridge Brotherhood" - there are quite a few of us around here that shoot that bow - you are going to love it!

Thanks Bubba and Jerp. I'm looking forward to the transition. I need a new challenge.

It is definitely a challenge... You will most likely love it and never go back to wheels or you will get frustrated and give it up. It's not for everyone but those of us that love it wouldn't give it up for anything in the world! Good luck and enjoy the ride!!!

I saw that bow in the classifieds about 45 minutes after Bobby posted it. I thought "Man, that bow is exactly my draw weight and a good price! I should buy it!".

Problem was, you snatched ip up 30 minutes after he posted it. IMO, the Blueridge long riser is the best bow design Bob has ever come up with!

            You did well!

            Welcome to the fun side!

Like Bisch said, "Welcome to the fun side". Fun, expensive, challenging and sometimes downright frustrating but worth every minute of your time.

Welcome. I do not make arrows but you are welcome to drive across town and shoot with me sometime.

Bisch, this bow shoots smooth as can be and true. I'm a technical archer and shooting by the seat of my pants. I'm spot on and have only missed the target once. My yardage is at 17 yds right now trying to get the feel of this instinctive shooting. My only miss was a three under attempt at gap shooting. I think I'll stay with split and instinctive for the time being.

Sure has taken me a long time to follow up on this offer. If you're shooting any weekday between now and year's end let me know and I'll make a roadie.

That is - if the offer is still open.

So, how have you progressed? This thread was started almost two yrs ago. Have you been hunting and killing critters with your Blueridge?

Tell us more of the story!

Just shooting from time to time. I took it to Iowa last month. The plan was squirrel and pheasant hunting. We only did the squirrel chase. Close but no cigar. We had a ball though. Everyone thought it was a smooth shooting bow. I was really surprised at how quick the flu flu fell from the sky. I have the family convinced to pheasant hunt next year once they saw how accurate the bow and arrows are that I brought.

Pheasant hunting with a bow is a blast! I have been 3 times. We had all but one shoting stickbows, with the last guy manning a shotgun (we took turns on the shotgun). I have only gotten one pheasant out of the air, and one off the ground. I would go tomorrow if I had the chance. It is a ball!!!!
