Whitetail Deer

Guys,

I am looking for a good place to spend a few days hunting for a good whitetail. I just moved this way and don't have any conections for a club so I figured I would go this direction.

Do you guys have any suggestions. I'm in Houston and looking for someplace hopefully within 300 miles or so but I am open past that if its worth the trip.

Lots of good places within 300 miles.

What are you looking for, day lease, package deal? Also how much are you looking to spend?

Here are a few good day leases that are well priced and have good potential for a big buck, but the hunting for a mature deer is tough because its so heavily hunted.

I'm looking to spend 2500 or so for a good mount but not needing a monster 140ish deer. I've always hunted private club land so I'm not too sure what to expect other than the hunt shows versions.

you can shoot a good buck at busy b ranch in jefferson for that much.

You may also try the Welge Ranch outside of Fredicksburg in the Hill Country. Me and my son hunt there every year and it is 2500.00 per gun and you get a Buck and a Doe so it is a pretty good way to fill your freezer.
