    Rotten shoulder overhaul

Well, my old rotten shoulder on my left side has given up.
I had the right one overhauled in 2011
Scheduled surgery for the 11th of December. Pushed it out enough to get one more weekend at my lease in Rankin.

Pretty sure I tore the rotator cuff back when I was getting ready for the elephant hunt as it has never quit hurting since that time.

You read warnings all the time on the forums that shooting heavy bows will mess your shoulders up so I guess I'm not overly surprised.

Laying in the bed last night thinking about all the animals I have slammed a broad head through, It is a fair trade

So my advise to all the young fellows out there is.......
Shoot as heavy a bow as you want just plan on spending some money later on in life to fix what you tare up

Sorry to hear about this Marty! Isn't Dec 11 right before the youth hunt? You gonna be good to go for that? Best of luck in getting it all fixed up. I'll send a prayer up for a full recovery for you!

My biggest challange will be keeping my feeders filled for 3 or 4 months till it heals enough to pick up a sack of feed

Good luck with the surgery Buff. Think I'll stop going heavier than my 60# thunderchild. Shooting a 49# thunderchild right now.

Sorry to hear that I guess you will be shooting a crossbow or something, maybe Black Widow will make you some light limbs, Ken Beck hunted in Africa with a 45# bow.

I have had surgery on both of my shoulders too, thirty three years of bow hunting. I do it all over again. Good luck.
