    Wth?????

    Was expecting my order of Gold Tip Blems from Big Jims today and sure enough they showed up. But went right back with the postal person. According to my order the priority shipping of $9.95 was charged and I paid my bill completley. Postal person said there was a priority charge of $27.95. They are going bac to Big Jims. Anybody else have this happen?

    I'm confused.

    The mail man refused to leave the package due to unpaid postal fee?

    Or

    The mail man tried to collect more money from you, so you refused the package?

    Either way sound fishy to me.
    I don't think the USPS does COD.

        Both. I finally got a call back from Big Jims. Seems like when they picked up their last batch of boxes for shipping, the post office neglected to tell them that the boxes had been redesigned for dual purpose. Folded one way they auotmatically ship Priority Mail (in this case $9.95), folded from the other side they are Priority Express(high dollar,in this case $27.95). The package arrived in the same amount of time, so why would anyone want to spend $18.00 more dollars? Anyway, Big Jims didn't realize this and had about 100 orders shipped when it hit the fan from customers. They said if I could go to the P.O. and get the order and pay the additional shipping, they would reimburse me for it. That's the plan for now. Have already run by once but the route carrier wasn't back yet so I'll run by about 3:45.

          I do a lot of shipping using Priority mail and I believe what they told you. It sucks but I can understand it happening. They used to have Express mail and Priority mail, now they have Priority express mail and Priority mail. Just another stupid move by USPS. Priority mail arrives in 1-3 days and Priority express in 1-2 days but Priority express is way more expensive and in most cases it doesn't arrive any faster.

            You gotta watch those boxes when you ship with them. We use them sometimes and I remember when they changed. Glad I noticed it

              Absolutely! I can sure see me making that mistake, I mean it really is in how you fold the box. One side is Priority and the other is Priority Express, so it would be easy to slip and fold it the wrong way. Bottom line is Big Jim's is taking care of me, great customer service goes a long ways!

                  I still don't understand it making it all the way to your door before the mistake was discovered. It should have been caught at or before the first sorting facility,

                  BUT

                  Stranger things have happened. LOL

                    It must have raised a question at my local post office cause when I went in to try and get it back, they immediately said "oh,that package"! lol

                        Update. Big Jims has wonderful customer service!! When I called to find out info on what happened and they told me, they also said if I wanted the shafts to go ahead and pick them up, paying the additional postage and they (Big Jims) would reimburse me. Well it turned out to be 27.01 and I called the following morning. The lady said my account would be credited back and it was the next day! Really nice people, and yes that was the right thing for them to do, but in todays buisness world I know there are those that wouldn't! I will be doing more buisness with these folks in the future!

                          I live about 10 miles from Big Jim and Barbara. I have been to his house and shop a lot and I can testify that you will not find anyone on the face of this earth that is more honest and trustworthy as this man and his wife. It is ashamed that there are not more people like them but thank God for them!!! I was glad to see that you had this taken care of correctly and that is a testimony for the man his wife and their business.
