Had ol Roland Jenkins build me one a few weeks ago and he whipped this thing out pretty quick. After shooting one of caughtandhobbles, I was really thinking about having one built from his guy. But I thought I'd see what Roland could do for me. The biggest thing about it was what I wanted in the handle shape, was looking for something fairly high wristed that would fit my hand like a glove and promote a loose grip. The turn around time with Roland was a lot shorter too, or I wouldn't have gotten one made until next year.
Quilted maple limbs, cocobolo riser. 49 @ 28. 60"
Has a nice grip which he said he made higher than normal, and he made the groove for the web of my hand deeper so the plate sits on top hand a little more. The point where the arrow rests actually lines up even with the middle knuckle on my pointer finger. I'm tickled to death. My first recurve and first made specifically for me with my wood choice (at least by someone with more bowyer skills than I have). It sends a shaft down range with authority, and now I realize how worn out my block target is, since it's getting close to letting feathers enter through. A little more weight than I'm used to since I've been shooting low-mid 40's for a while with my blackhills, but it's exactly what I wanted. Enjoy
