What you paying for in a Longbow offering.
As you may know Bill (Bowfishing) took his first big game animal with longbow this past week at the KJO. Bill has long been into the traditional offerings. But not until late has he really took interest in trying to make it his go to hunting tool.
Well it is no secret the coolness factor of this sort of equipment. And I think I to would like to give it a try. Thing is the prices of this equipment goes from one extreme to the other.
Put aside the ultra cheep you get what you pay for thing. And lets talk the real world value in what you get for what you pay thing.
The style of bow I like just on the outside looking in is much like the longbow that you see Bill with in his Ram harvest pic's.
Questions quite simply are,
(1) What do you have to spend to get a no compromise offering with out the gold inlay.
(2) What poundage is best for all round north American game. Kinda a do all thing. I am a med built guy that has good strength.
But I am not interested in a show off draw weight. But instead a weight that has proven best all round for hunting use and shoot ability.
(3) What arrow set ups seem to work best field and hunting points etc...
