Do Not Lease from JIM HOOD in HONDO

Hope this is a good place to post this so nobody else gets scammed by him.

Attention all bow and rifle hunters

DO NoT Lease from JIM HOOD in HONDO

Beware of used car salesman and scam artist

He does not own any of the property

He does not tell you how many folks will be hunting on the property,
but you will find out on your own after you pay. Way to many people on such little land.

He is constantly showing the property and making everything run off.

He will tell you what you want to hear and not deliver

He will mention a property by a number getting you to beleive that is the acres your hunting on.
That is far from the truth. That is the acres the owner of the property has but not what your hunting.

He does not have the property set up before hand or has he been feeding them all year round.

I can go on and on about this guy but you should have a good picture about him.

Just want to let others know so they do not have to get messed over like me and some others have.

Little more info for you. This Jim Hood leases out the property on my family's north side. You are correct in that he does not own the land. He goes in and leases from the landowner and apparently does not tell them what he is doing. He will then lease the place out to way to many hunters. The property to our north is 25 acres. It is a long narrow strip that is only 400 feet wide. While walking to my stand I had one of the hunters wanting to let me know he was there. What he did not know is that he was wanting on that size/shape property and that there was another hunter about a hundred yards down the fence from him hunting the same property. Jim Hood also leases another place that I know of. While a cant give to many details due to the info coming from a lawyer, I will tell yall that he owes the landowner $11,000 and would not pay. She was scared of the man and thought he might shoot her.

Jim Hood....Pass that name around and lets make sure that everyone knows this name.

Bump this to the top everyone. There is only one way to make sure this happens and that is to make sure everyone knows who he is and what he does. Hopefully by summer next year the man will not have anyone to lease to and will living under a bridge on 35.

                    BUMP....BUMP...BUMP

I actually called this guy, looking for just "one" guy to bowhunt. Initially he wanted 1500 to have my "own" 30 acres, but have access to the other 200 or so if no one was hunting. He had too many stipulations, I didn't trust my gut so I decided against it. Glad I did!

Went and met with this guy in June. I toured the properties, and the 2 places he was going to use for lodging. Both lodges had holes in it big enough to drive truck through. He kept insisting that they would both be ready to go by August (remodeled, Electric, and water). I saw about 3 feeders standing on about 4 different properties. The ladderstands & tripods looked like they wouldn't hold a 50lb. guy. He kept assuring me that everything would be ready by August, but something kept telling not to trust him.

Everything was "No Problem, we are taking care of that" with him. Glad I went with my guy feeling!!
