    Let one walk

Had a yearling doe at 24 yds this morning, and let her walk. Just wondering if i should have taken her, my partner told me i should have taken the shot. Would yall have shot?

You mean a doe fawn from this year, or a 1 1/2 yo doe?

I'd pass on the fawn, pop the 1 1/2 yo, usually.

I just noticed you shoot Rage heads, so even if you hit the deer you'd be 50/50 to kill it at best.

Pass on all of them until you get a real broadhead.

Man I passed a 3.5 year old 8 with a split brow and atleast 12 in G3s and was a couple inches outside the ears as he was walking away. That was this morning would have been my best bow buck so far but in a couple more yrs he could be my best ever.

I try to shoot a mixed bag of does.

I'm just messing with you. I had a couple bad experiences with Rage heads, sometimes I can't help but to make fun of them a little bit.

I shoot Slick Trick mags, FWIW.

To each his own. I let a small doe pass last year.

What kind of problems did you have? This is my first go round with them. Havent shot anything yet with them.

First two shots I took with them they opened at the shot and planed BADLY. I hit a broadside doe in the back of the ham, and missed another about 18" in front of the brisket.

I did everything they say you are supposed to with those heads, the blades were in the o-rings, I checked after the arrow was nocked on both shots.

Seems like they work great, when they work at all. A lot of guys have had similar problems. A lot of other guys haven't YET.

I shoot a bunch of deer every year, and I can't see spending $15 on a broadhead that usually works when I can spend $8 on one that can't NOT work. There are a lot of good, reliable, straight shooting heads out there. Rage is not one of them, IMO.

By letting her go, she will have twins next year and then you'll have 3 deer to shoot at.

Beauty is in the eye of the bow holder. I may have ran an arrow through her, but that's a decision we all have to make for ourselves.

I would have let her walk.

I would have passed, unless it was the only deer I had seen in a long time

                          I wouldn't have shot her.

you have to ask, if you did the right thing by giving a yearling doe a pass, wow.....

If I was hungry I would have shot her. Size does not matter to me. In fact the little ones are easier to clean and more tender.
