it isn't the top of the line and most expensive, but my wildview 3.0 has yet to give me any problems after 6 seasons! granted there's butt pictures, fuzzy pictures and some good pictures from time to time, but hey it was a b-day present and I'm not complaining. it's better than missing out completely
I am wanting to add another camera to my toy box though, so I'm listening too.
I've tried many trail cams and recently purchased a Bushnell trophy cam and it has been great so far. Got a steal on it for $175 including shipping on google!

Reason: typo
I broke down this year and bought one of the Bushnell Trophy cams. I had used Moultrie , wildview , and one of the stealth but they all quit working within the first couple of months . When they did work I got a lot of washed out pictures , and Butt shots . The trophy cam has been out around 3 months and has taken over 4000 pictures (Mostly of cows that destroyed my feeder) Still using the same set of 8 AA batteries . I did buy the 2 yr extended warranty through Cabelas , total cost $229 . Some of the other brands would not use an 8 GB SD card , only 2 GB. I am very happy with my purchase. Just my .02
What about battery life on these cameras? I can not make it to the farm often enough to change the batteries and prefer to spend the extra money for solar panels on something else.
I have been through most all the $200 cameras on the market.... With that said, the best i have tried yet is the ScoutGuard 550....
My lease is 5 1/2 hours away from the house and in the offseason I get up there about every 8 weeks or so... Needells to say my main concern is the battery life and dependability of the camera, this camera fits that bill very well... In fact, the only downfall of this camera is the distance of the IR and the capacity of the sd card, which the flash is not a problem for me as I can see what I need to see.. I do wish the cameras would accept a larger SD card and I have heard the new ones do accept the larger SD cards ..
The 8 AA batteries last for a few months and gets several thousand pic's... Mine has been in the field for a year now and has yet to fail...
The Trophy cam advertises 1 year battery life if you use Litium batteries. I had alkaline because that is what I had in my truck. 8 Lithium batteries at Walmart is around $16 , I will probably put those in when I change my card in Sept.

I saw those on sale for $50 the other day. I forget where...either Academy or Cabela's. Anyway, Wildview is a great "frugal" option...mine has worked great. If money is of less concern, I think the cuddebacks are fantastic.
