Opinions on the 1 pin adjustable sights???

Buddy is buying one soon and it sounds like a real good idea but there has to be some downfall/weakness of these sights because I dont see many people using them.. To me it seems real smart to have it set say to 25 yards and then adjust it accordingly by clicks(increments) to the proper distance of your shot.

Please post yalls opinions/experience with these sights. Does it take long to adjust it if say you have a deer that doesnt stop?

I like them, I hunt with an HHA OL55-19 set at 25 yards. I enjoy having a nice clean sight picture and the .019 pin combined with the adjustable rheostat makes for a very versatile sight for all lighting conditions. That being said, the only reason I'm using the sight is because it works for how I hunt. I mostly hunt piney woods and swamps so the longest shot I'll ever take is 30 yards and occasionally I'll have a deer come in at less than twenty. I practice enough with my setup to know how far to hold over/under if the deer doesn't present a shot that is exactly 25 yards. If I were hunting a less confined area with greater visibilty I would probably use a multi-pin sight so I could be more precise with my shot placement. BTW, my sight uses a slider system vice the wheel adjustment so changing your yardage setting on the fly is quite painless. I say wait til your friend's sight comes in and see how you like it before buying.

thats the problem lol he lives in dalls and I dont see him hardly ever. He said he shot one and loved it. It seems to be the way to go but I just dont hear much about them. Last year my shots were all between 15-30 yards....35 is the farthest I will shoot. I need to try one out or look into them more. Thanks

A lot of it depends on your setup and the location you hunt. My rig shoots pretty flat out to 30 yards so with my sight set at 25 I'm about an inch high at twenty and just under two inches low at thirty. You might try eBay or the classified section, I see them pop up every now and then for a lot less than what they retail for.

I have a Truglo adjustable one pin sight that I like very much. If most of your hunting is from a blind or treestand I think it's the way to go.
