trad rest material - velcro, leather, rug, other?

What do you like on your shelf? I've always used velco (fuzzy side) but I need to replace what I have. Before I go back to the velcro, is there any advantage to using leather? I've seen leather rest material for sale, but I have plenty of veg-tanned leather in various thicknesess laying around - how would that work?

I prefer the velcro. Leather is too slick for me...arrow tends to fall off the shelf easier when hanging in a tree if I use leather.

Another vote for velcro. I also like that it's easy to install.

velcro, unless its vintage and it came with something else IE a feather/ five line plate.

I have found the precut Velcro tabs to be pretty good. A lot come in the package and I get a consistent rest each replacement.

I use the industrial Velcro, the really heavy stuff. I leave about an 1/8 of an inch between shelf and rest for feather clearance.

I like Velcro or leather with the hair on.

Velcro is cheaper and easier to get.

Seal skin is my favorite, but for ease of use alone, I'd say velcro is best. Seal skin is slick as owl snot, and wears forever, but there's nothing better than being able to trim a piece of velcro, and just stick it on.

I used velcro for years but recently went to Beaver skin. It's slick, wears forever and it looks cool.
