    apple dumplings

Very easy to make and pretty darn tasty too. Don't blame me if your pants start to shrink!!

    1 can cresant rolls
    2 green apples
    1 stick of butter
    1/2 cup sugar
    3 tbl spoons cinnamon sugar
    1 can Sprite

    peel and quarter apples
    roll out cresant rolls
    sprinkle dough w/ cinnamon sugar
roll apple slices up in dough, place in 9X13 dish

In a small pot, melt 1/2 cup sugar, 3 tbl spoons cinnamon sugar and stick of butter. Pour mixture over dumplings. Then pour 1/2 can sprite around edges of pan. (mix other half of sprite w/ 2 shots of Crown Royal and enjoy)
Bake for 30 minutes @350 degrees.

Add a scoop of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream and dig in!!

Hope these apple dumplins turn out better than the ground venison you "cooked" the other night !!

I have been making this recipe for years (although the original calls for a can of Mountain Dew but I have since seen Sprite as an option). At parties or gatherings where everyone brings a different dish, this is always the first (and usually only) dessert to be completely gone. There are never any leftovers. It is simple to make and simply one of the best desserts you can eat. I have had people that don't like to eat apples say how good it really is.

I used two cans of the cresent rolls instead of one. The particular crescents I bought were cut in a way that only yielded four per can plus some little pieces. So I used two cans and then just rolled the little pieces up and put them around the edges. Anyway, they tasted great and my kids loved them!

                              THANKS!
