Right now I'm shooting 28.5 and its too long. If i get 28in cams will I have to get a new string? Shooting a Drenalin.

No the strings and cables stay the same !!!

No, but you will have to re-tune.

I guess I need a whole new cam, I need to shorten my draw length by .5in.

no, you can use the same string. The cam sets the drawlength. You may have to adjust nock point to tune it with the new cam.
