BPD: Intoxicated driver splits pickup truck in half after hitting guard rail

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - Bryan police and firefighters responded to a single vehicle accident on E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Street Tuesday.

According to Bryan police, Ginger Pivonka, 51, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. She was taken to a nearby hospital after the wreck and was released a few hours later.

The truck Pivonka was driving split into two pieces.

A guard rail was also damaged as a result of the wreck.

The City of Bryan is working to repair it.

Didn't dodge the guard rail, its a good thing there were no passengers.

As bad as it looks cut in half that probably saved her life. The force that would had been put on her if it was a solid hit would've broken her neck at least. That is why there are crumple fenders in vehicles to dampen frontend collisions unlike to old tanks.
