    Will deer eat Persimmon LEAVES?

Will be planting 30, 3-5ft. saplings soon. I know they'll eat the fruit, but will they eat the buds/leaves? I plan on protecting the bark with plastic tubes but I was wondering if I need to cage the whole thing until established.

if they're hungry enough and develope an appetite for the fresh forage and leaves, deer will eat anything

I'd spray them with a deer deterent just to be safe

Fence them! They will nibble on the plastic also.

Friend of mine grew them for me along with his live oaks, so they've been potted and watered since birth
