To mow or not to mow?

I have a spot I want hang a stand and start hand corning. It's along a creek and a patch of woods. Area is not real big that I want to hand corn. The area I want to put the corn is pretty much bare, but rest of area is grown up weeds and such, probably 3-4' tall. Should I mow it or leave it? I will have to mow a path to get there to it. The patch of woods is about 15ac, to the north about 75yds is powerline and open field that usually gets mowed. I see deer there all the time. to the south is a big bottom along the creek that follows the creek. Last year they mowed it and I saw a lot of deer in the bottom. Not sure if they are going to mow it. Part of the pasture where the bottom is hasn't been mowed in years and is grown up pretty good.

Dont see how shredding would hurt you a bit, would think it would actually help.

Mow it. Get the fresh tender grass growing

just throw the corn, don't disturb the area.

Yes, what they said up there. Mow it down ASAP and then stay out of there until season.

Deer are more comfortable in cover, unless you're gonna plant it, mow a trail that will take them near your stand and corn away. My two cents.

I am going to split the difference on the responses, mow half of it!

Mow where you want the deer to walk, in my experience deer are lazy just like people and if you create a trail/path they'll use it.

Id shred just to make sure I could get a better blood trail for tracking. Tall grass is the worst.
