Cottonwood beetles, growing up we called the Japanese beetles because the local Vietnamese would fight them.

Wood beetles. Cutting mesquite I have found them as well as pecan.

I've always heard them called Bore Beetles.

Makes sense due to me trimming mesquite around my house.

Homopteran aka Beetle. Looks like some type of LongHorn Beetle...indicated by the long antenna...most bore into wood at some point in their life cycle. Not likely reach populations to warrant pesticide use.

Cool lookin critters makin sexy time. Thanks for sharing.
