It has been a long 9 months since I announced my bid to run for Lampasas County Commissioner pct 2. Having three in the race, I knew the likelihood of a runoff was inevitable. Sure enough March 6th came and went. I won the primary but didn't have the necessary 51% of the vote.
It seemed like May 22nd would never get here but it eventually did. At about 7:00 I drove up to the court house to be there when the results were released. Having forgot about early voting returns being available at 7:00, I was supervised to see I had a 150 vote lead after early voting. By 7:45, the totals were in and we won the election by 20%.
I truly feel blessed to have this new opportunity to be a part of county leadership. I can assure you it will be very difficult for me to leave the school system after spending the last 17 years of my life with these kids.
