Rattlesnakes fightin.

Has anyone ever wondered upon two rattlesnakes fighting? I saw it today for the first time (except on tv) and thought it was pretty cool. Maybe it's more common than I think but I've found and caught a bunch of them in the Spring during mating season when you're more likely to see it happen. And I've walked all over the place either huntin or workin in rattlesnake country but never witnessed it until today. It is known to be a courtship ritual where two males fight over a lady snake but since they mate in the Spring I think it was more of a territorial thing this time of year.

This is the best picture I got of them. They were moving too much,knocking each other over and twisting around so most of them are pretty blurry.

Standing 3ft off of the ground swaying back and forth in ozona with a.45 wasn't as easy as I thought but did get both.

They didn't even seem to notice that I was there. They twisted around for I'd say maybe 10 minutes or so and never even buzzed at me. I figured they'd stop and crawl off when I walked up there but they didn't.

I walked up on two of them mating while quail hunting near Freer, got both in one shot, they were both over 5 feet long.
