    Mississippi Buck

Was curious what you guys thoughts on this dear are. I have been getting pics of him pretty regular but something just isnt adding up. Could this be a "cactus" buck that you see some of from time to time?Click image for larger version

Do you ever see him in hard horn? Cool character.

That is wild looking... Is there a 13" rule in Mississippi? If not i'd shoot him. Very cool character and looks to be an older deer.

If what you mean by cactus is stag, then possibly. Only thing that makes me think that is his bases having so much junk around them.

No 13" rule. I havent seen him hard horned. Just aquired this 600 acre tract and he showed up on a creek crossing in a HW bottom. We have AG on both sides of the proper (corn/beans). Im curious to see if he sheds. Just thought it was odd looking myself.

Nice, he should have lots of character and junk up there once he drops the velvet. Hopefully you'll have some LDPs hard horned.

That will be a good wall hanger for sure.

Kind of looks like a stag to me. Still a cool buck though.

He looks to muscular to be a stag. Looks like he is getting close to shedding his velvet.

Season doesnt kick off till Oct 1st for bow. Typically they dont shed until the last week of Sept and into October. We shall see, he is a odd ball for sure.

Not sure what you want to call him, but if he is as old as he appears, I would not hesitate to try to take him home.

I hope to have some LDP's here during bow season. So far all his pictures have been late evening and early morning at dark or before daylight going from bed to the corn

10 deer a year but they don't give you any tags.
