This is not a HF/LF argument thread. I had been discussing this with a friend on TBH and just off the top of my head came up with a list of differing factors. We get on here and argue but the fact is most of us are not on the same hunt as the rest. Very few of us hunt under the same conditions. Feel free to add more factors I haven't listed.
Acreage per hunter
Eco Region
Improved v unimproved land
Managed v un-managed
Topography
Distance to natural or artificial water sources
Amount and size of water sources
Natural v artificial water sources
Regional agriculture production (artificial food source)
Natural browse amounts
Protein programs
Human population and pressure of area
Fence type: High, Low, None
Available cover
Game population
Game health
Predator population and health
Comparing deer and hunting as if we are all under the same conditions is ridiculous. Be happy with what you have depending on your circumstances. A trophy to one hunter might be a joke based on points to another. But that same hunter might feel the other's 150 pointer is a joke based on other factors.
Be happy with what you got. What other factors can you think of?
