Haven't hunted it but know a couple biologists that have been on it. Supposed to be some big boys in there on the river.

Haven't hunted it yet but always wanted to, it is a few hundred yards from where I hunt a lot at Lake Meredith. I can imagine it would be a great place to hunt, don't think it has had much pressure over the last few years.

Was born in Wichita Falls, we just sold the grandparents house there, not too much connection to the area any more.

This is one hunt I really want to go on. Seems like one of the most low pressure public hunts in the state as they've only done hunts for a few years and only allow a few people there each year. I believe they only allow access by crossing private property so they will escort you in and once you leave you can't go back in. The only public access is through the riverbed so I guess if you wanted to hike in and out down the river each day you could come and go as you please. From what I can tell it's pretty open country with the river of course and a couple of other stream drainages which would hold most of the game. I would guess it's like hunting Lake Meredith except without any pressure and a lot more game.

I've heard it gets allot of illegal out of season activity/access.

I grew up in Wichita Falls but have lived in Houston for the last 15 years. Recently moved back to WF. Went to college in plainvoew so I am very familiar with Meredith and the river and have seen the quality of deer on it. Just haven’t found very much info on this hunt. To say I am pumped is an understatement.

Need to get a rifle to the range. I bow hunt and haven’t shot a deer with a firearm in 20 years.
