GUT SHOT!.... I'll be tracking him for miles.

That's pretty good for my first shot. I wasn't even sure I'd hit the paper. I also haven't shot since doing the challenges from last week. This will definitely make me practice more.

      Best I could muster.

The only thing I could really see well was the heart fletching on the arrows in his quiver.

FSC 2-05-13, 8:30 P.M., he's DRT, I measured once I got inside, 18 yards, 1 3/8" from edge of arrow to center of tooth! Took his noggin out!

The trad FSC distances are usually called with the size of a normal backyard in mind, that way we can maximize participation. It just so happens that normal "backyard shots" also fall within the normal average shooting range on live game too.

Worse case scenario you call a shot that's too close and you need micrometers to determine who the winner is for the week Bottom line is that it's a fun way to test your "cold skills"; No warmup, first arrow of the day, first attempt at the shot, just like the real thing!

Mix it up, and use your imagination.

Distance isn't near as important as situation.

Call unique, and even funny stuff.
Shoot through holes in a box.
Mix up the angles of the shots.
Shoot from on top of a ladder.
                    Etc
                    Etc

                    You get the point.

Just make it interesting & fun.
                    That's the main thing.

Ya never know - you might get some of us trad guys over there shootin with ya.

I'll give it a shot today, if it's not raining, but I hope that it will rain.
