Well it’s a little late but I took down two salt water aquariums and I’m building a new reef tank. Click image for larger version

75 gallon bow front 10 gallon sump. It will be a mixed reef not sure on fish yet.

Tank is half full had to stop setting it up to let the sediment settle. Can’t see what’s going on. Click image for larger version

I set it up when I was around 17I think so the tank is about 8 years old the coral all around 6-8 years old but not properly cared for about 2-3 years.

What do you you have to do to properly care for one ? Couriuos because I have a 135 gal. In my basement that I just have normal tropical fish in. But would love to make it salt.

Spend lots and lots of money. I bet you thought hunting was expensive.... HA!
I look forward to watching your setup. I'm toying with the idea of going back in with another reef, something smaller and more peaceful than I had before.

The main thing is doing weekly water changes to help maintain water quality. Thats the main thing. Try and keep the water from changing rapidly in any way.

I have some good live sand and rock that I won’t be needing I’ll give it to you at a killer price to get you started.

Coral was pretty upset this morning. I had to stop building the reef last night due to the sediment in the water couldn’t see what I was doing. Getting lunch and will continue the build when I get home.

I'm guessing you're not too worried about kicking off another cycle with stirring everything up? Did you have to break the sump tank down or did you keep it going (assuming you had some natural filtration in place down there).
