    Rem 700 Action Question

Thinking of buying a Rem 700 action and barrel in 243 with great bluing. Action and bolt face appear as new as can be. No stock, trigger, or magazine.

What year is it? Serial # is A6749728

    Thanks in advance.

That's what I was hoping for. I've got a 1983 Model 7 in 6mm that I would never change or part with. What would be a great build with this if I should buy it? I can't get off-center on this decision.

All of my rifle calibers are:
        22
        223
        6mm
        257 Wby Mag
        7mm Mag
        308
        325 WSM

Or...If it shoots well as 243 with the factory barrel, just finish it and gift it to a nephew?

Seller says they are hard to read but appears to him as "CV"

REM870.com shows "CV" as either an April 1979 model or April 2001 model. I'm "assuming" that this is correct as this site says the info works on models 870, 700 and 1100. HOWEVER, from the site, it looks to be the letters on the barrel that they're using, not the action, so I could be way off here.

Hmmm, it's a short action so you'll be "limited" to short action calibers. I say if there's nothing you want in a short action and its shoots well, go ahead and finish it out and gift it to your nephew.

                      A6384880...... I bought this 270-ADL model 700 in September of 1977.

                      Use for reference only.

22-250? What barrel length and twist is optimum? I think Cajun Blake or somebody posted and exceptional example on here earlier this year. I believe the stock was jet black.

Then I can part ways with 223

                          7-08 or .22-250

I would go with a 1:8” twist and shoot the heavier pills at deer/hogs. This “old school” custom rifle is sporting an HS stock, and select match grade barrel. You could build this for $850 if you already have an action.
