Default Falken all-terrain tires - any experience to share?

I need some new tires. I have a two wheel drive but do go off pavement quite a bit.

My last set were Yokohamas, and they have served me pretty well. The ones I have now are no longer made.

The shop I am using is suggesting Falken ATW3, 265/70/17.

Anyone ever gone with this brand? How was your experience?

From what I’ve seen and read, they are a good tire. They aren’t a Toyo, but the price doesn’t reflect that either. I wouldn’t be afraid to purchase them if they were within my budget.

They suck!!!!!

Tread only lasted about 20k miles. Discount Tire pro rated mine for a different brand.

I've heard people say they weren't putting them Faulken tires on their truck again. Or something like that.

I have some now with about 10k miles on them and have not had any issues. They are quiet on the highway and are fine in the mid. They are wearing good too.

Discount recommended them when I was replacing a set of 4 slashed tires and they served me well for the 20,000k miles I put on them before my trucks transmission blew.

Sold it to the mechanic since the value to fix it was equal to the value of the truck. He fixed it up himself and is driving it and last month I saw him and he still had the same tires on it 2.5 years later

I'm looking at $708, all settled and out the door. Seemed alright to me. Are there some other recommendations for a sub $1000 known-quality brand.

I was not a fan of mine on my 2500, but I could see them being a good light duty truck/suv tire.

I've got them on an f350 about 22K miles in and no issues whatsoever. Still say they have almost half the tread left on them. I would buy them again.

I have a set right now on my Tundra. I have close to 50,000 on them (1st 28,000 never roatated them) i have been extremely pleased with them and would not hesitate to buy again.
Mine are 275 70 18's.....ill go take a pic so you can see the amount of tread left after near 50,000 miles....stand by

Not much tread left but after 50,000.....and near 30,000 without rotating, not bad Id say
Smooty quiet ride for an AT as well

It wont let me add the treadwear pic for some reason????!!!!

Excellent tire, have over 20000 miles on my F150. Quiet, ride good, great off road performance......best wet pavement truck tire I've ever owned. Will buy again.

I bought 2 Falken tires because Discount was out of what I wanted. They were not all terrains, but after that experience, I will never buy another Falken tire, ever!!!!!

My uncle lives in the hill country and drives his F250 on lots of rocky terrain so he goes through tires like crazy. He was buying the Toyo All Terrain, but tried these at the suggestion of his tire guy. He absolutely loves them and says he will buy another set when this one wears out.

I ran them on my truck one time and that was it. Discount prorated them for me and I’m on my second set of coopers. The Faulkens wore extremely fast on my truck. Stock 08 1500 with a leveling kit, tires rotated every 6k.

I had them on a duramax, they seemed to ride well and looked good but I traded in truck only a few thousand miles so don’t know how long they last.

Never again for me. 10,000 miles good. After that my truck shook like crazy and they could not be balanced.

Man I love mine! I've always ran Nitto's and Toyo's but decided to give the At3w a shot. I just rolled over 41k miles on this set and I easily will get another 30k out of them. Traction is great and they are quiet. I have been rotating them every 10k. I only paid about $720 out the door for 33" tires on 20" wheels so I feel like they are a steal.

Edit: I'll add that a coworker really liked the look of my tires so asked how I liked them. He ended up buying a set about 10 months ago and loves them too.

I have read and heard great things about the new AT3W, and plan to try these out.

The old Falken Rocky Mountains ATs definitely had a lot of negative reviews due to the tread and siping not being full depth.

Cooper just released an updated version of their AT3 that seems to be priced less than the Nittos and Toyos

Iíve had everything from wrangler duratrac, wrangler all terrains, Toyos, and 2 sets of falken Rocky Mountain all terrains... you canít go wrong with the Falkens, they are solid tires and way more affordable than most... I put 60k on both sets of falkens I had.

I had great luck with the 6 that were on my welding rig and it weighs close to 10,000 pounds. My friend got some on a 3/4 ton and never could get them to balance out and had to swap them for some thing else.
