Who's pumped up and ready? My wife is getting tired of me walking around the house practicing on my diaphragms, but she knew what she was getting into when she married me! Where you hunting this year and when?

Ill be in Gonzales guiding two guys who bought turkey hunts from our Montgomery Co. NWTF Banquet last year on the weekend of 3/24. Then, I'll be out in San Saba sometime in Mid April to give one the jelly head.

Good luck this year boys and girls!

I'm pumped, hoping my son in college can come home to join me, been my hunting partner since he was three.
Great time to be out in the woods, hearing the early morning gobbles is a kick along with all the other sights and sounds.
Good luck to all!

I think I am going to go more than the one time I went last year. I really just like calling them in, have no desire to shoot one. we don't have a bunch of turkeys but there were more last year than any pervious year. I actually saw 4 nice gobblers during bow season this year. Didn't see them after October but they are around somewhere.

not so much. The place we just sold had regular turkey visitors but haven't seen a one on camera at the new place yet.

Looking forward to it as always! Checked cams this morning and had some gobblers strutting the goods at a couple of places. Plan on taking the little one on several hunts this year because she can hear better than I can. Flying out to hunt some birds in the swamp of south Florida in two weeks cant wait. Plan on making a few hunts here in the north zone as well as the south zone till I run out of tags.

Yall have a good amount of birds up that way in Waelder? I've always wondered where their range stops, going north and east from Gonzales.

I'm pumped to get it started. Hopefully I'll get some good decapitation videos again this year. Oh, saw a gobbler and hen at a feeder last weekend, and on my way back from the ranch, I had a group of 25 fly over the county road.

Things are just starting to green-up a bit around here and that always makes my thoughts turn to turkeys. Our new hunting grounds looks like prime turkey habitat including a 1/2 mile stretch of hardwood creek bottom with huge oaks for roosting. We have not seen many turkeys in the few short months we have had the place, however sometimes they will start showing up when they scatter into their mating season pattern. (fingers crossed!) Hopefully the hottest part of the mating season will coincide with the hunting season this year - that is not always the case.

Yes sir, plenty of Toms to go around. Myself and one other are the only ones to hunt them in the spring. It takes us about 15 minutes to find a bird and get set up.

I'll be out. For the first time in forever my son won't be with me. Stupid job. But, the wife is going. It'll be fun trying to keep her from moving around. Spring turkey hunting is definitely my most favorite. Can't wait for 3/31 to get here.

Can’t wait, ready to put a big mature Eastern on the ground. Got me a new DSD, getting a pretty good flock together. Hopefully, I can score a Rio Hunt, I haven’t been able to chase them in quite a few years.

Turkey season starts March 20 here in SC. I am ready. Killed a turkey last year at my parents place. I lived in those woods for 20 years with no signs of Turkey. While I was living in Texas they told me they were seeing turkeys. I moved back last year and decided to give it a try. Turns out they were right. Saw 8 Jake's last year at my buddies place. Should be a good year.

Really bummed, after not seeing many birds this fall I was concerned, but our birds tend to move to either the Pecan Bayou or Jim Ned bottoms during the fall, so it’s not uncommon to see fewer birds. But I spent the weekend here and didnt hear a single bird and only found 1 set of tracks. Going to be tough hunting.

We had a huge hail storm late spring with tennis to baseball sized hail, that’s the only thing I can figure has decimated our normally stable and healthy turkey population

I have killed a train car full of Turkeys through the years with my recurve out of a blind.

I have never sat under a tree and called one up to bust with a shotgun.
Plan is to fix that the first weekend in April.

Took a friend and his daughter out Saturday on youth opener in Goliad county. Birds came to our calls but not gobbling much. Lots of hens with them. Got her 3 nice gobblers coming on a string but they hung up on a fence that they just wouldn't cross. Eventually darkness got us but she loved it and we'll get her out again.

Found out my own answer... FYI Hamilton county tom birds are already loving on their hens... drove up on a tom yesterday at the feeder riding a poor girl after her breakfast. Very neat to see in person never seen that or toms fighting.
