This is my wife's first year to bow hunt and she made her first kill ever on a hog opening weekend. I got a text 650 that she shot a spike. I found the arrow and decent blood trail. We just backed out for another hour. He went 40 yrds and is bedded down so we will give him another hour. Blood was good and bright. I think she got one lung and liver. I dont wanna push him. Hopefully ldp's of her first deer ever to come shortly. The next hour will be long for her.

We went in and jumped him bedded down and backed back out. I dont know how this deer is still alive. Great blood trail and 3 big piles of blood like this. Gonna eat and then go back in an hour or two

I’m guessing you’re right. 1 lung. Did the same years ago, same type of blood, jumped him, he didn’t go far but Incouldnt find him that night. Found him still alive the next morning, he had one more short run in him and was able to put a finishing shot on him. Amazing how they can survive with 1lung punctured.

That's why I hate shooting deer on afternoon hunts. Hope coyotes don't find him first. Good luck finding him.
