    Stolen Valor

I've been watching several YouTube videos the past couple of days. Somehow I became fascinated by a guy named Don Shipley. Mr. Shipley is a retired United States Navy SEAL, a real one! He has made a new career out of exposing fake SEAL's and others posing as military veterans. It's amazing to me the about of deception, and lies some of these people have told in order to live a false life as a Veteran. Several have military tattoos on them! It also really ticks me off when people walk up to a fake Veteran and thank them for their service. Some of these fake SEAL's really did serve, they just were never what they claimed to be. IMO if you served our County in any capacity you are a hero. There is no need to lie and pretend you were something that you weren't. If anyone on here does or has done this please stop. The true veterans that earned their ranks deserve the thanks. God Bless all who really did serve this Nation.

Yep, stolen valor is ridiculous. I don't understand why people do this.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. I appreciate the thanks, but most importantly, I don't want us to be forgotten. Just ask todays kids about WWII, Korea, Vietnam---and 9/11. You'll get a bunch of blank looks.

Go to any gun show, academy, gun ranges ,and listen to all the used to be’s.ill never forget the retired military guy who was doubled secret covert operator who told a man he would never own a weapon without a safety or much less give one to his wife or daughter, the fella was looking at a small frame revolver for his wife, I looked over at the gun expert and we stared at each other for a second I shook my head and walked away.

We used to give the wwll vets a motorcycle escort to the airport when they would fly them the Washington every year, always shook their hands, many of them teared up and smiled Real Men Real Valor, doesn’t matter when you served it matters that you did thank you all veterans!!!!!

Sadly you're right about a lot of kids today. Thanks again for your service.

I've watched every video of his. Some several times over. Don Shipley and his wife are hilarious.

The stories they tell are awesome. Don is one bad son of a gun. He picked the back end of a pickup up and moved it off of his daughter after she was accidentally run over.

I saw the video of his wife telling that story. Adrenaline is a hell of a thing. I enjoy watching the two of them together

I enjoyed watching them before youtube did them wrong. I didn't enjoy watching them enough to pay for the videos...

I have no use for a liar in any capacity but stolen valor is in a class by itself.
I put them in the same category as those caught viewing child **** [emoji35]

I've seen a few videos of guys getting busted for stolen valor and it cracks me up hearing them try and lie their way out of it. Losers!

Been watching for a couple years. The depth of the deception is fascinating. IMO, 95% of the other stolen valor stuff on YouTube is staged and fake. Just people trying to profit off his hard work.
