    Rivers to kayak.

Looking to kayak this summer. Looking for something with regulated flow or a pretty consistent flow. I’m too old to drag a kayak very far.Within a 5 hr radius of DFW. I’ve done the Mountain Fork in Beavers Bend. Looking for something different.

Brazos river below PK dam. There’s a 20 mile stretch that was pretty good last year, but we need to get some rain this year. Get in below the ****, and you can get out at Rochelles Canoe Rentals 20 miles down. Park at Rochelles, shuttle to the ****, then get out at your vehicle.

Probably my favorite hobby. I’ve got 5 good ones within 30 minutes, buuuuut I’m about 8 hours from the big D.

Years ago, we'd do the Illinois River outside Tallequah, OK. Seems like it was about 5 hours from Fort Worth?

Brazos below PK is fun. You can do different sized stretches of it depening on time allowed, but an overnight on the first 20 miles is great.

Water wont be as clean and cool as Mountain Fork...

If you're willing to drive 5 hours from DFW, Arkansas has a lot of great options.

I’ve done the Illinois. Nice river. I’m actually in the Sherman area.

What are they? I can “fib” to the gf if they are good rivers.

Sorry, its been too long ago for me to be able to recommend a specific stretch or river.

                        Southwest Paddler has good info.

Keep it going. I’m just looking for reason to buy a kayak.
