Trapping with the kiddo

The youngest boy saw a show with a guy running trap lines and wanted to give it a go.

I bought some leg hold traps and we got 10 set out mid day yesterday.

This morning we ran the traps and ended up with 1 cottontail, 1 coon and 1 bobcat

Not to bad being I haven’t set any steel traps in over 20 years..

Needless to say, the youngster was excited about the cat and looking forward to what we may have tomorrow.

Awesome. Can you still sell the hides? I remember getting money when I was a kid selling hides to the buyer when he came through town.

I caught a rabbit (dead), a crow (broken leg but he flew away when I let him out) and a squirrel that I pinned down and let go with so sign of an injury (caught by paw in #4 jump spring)

No telling what you might accidentally catch
