My 8 yo son's first hunt...and a successful one!

I've been trying to get him to go with me for a couple years now and he kept saying "nah." But this year was different. Opening weekend I shot a doe and him, momma and lil sis had to help me track her. Great bloodtrail most of the time. Well after finding her, he changed his mind and wanted to go. Yes, the iPad helped keep him quiet and occupied. Got him up early and around 8 am, a small 6 came in. Watched him through the binos for about 30 mins. Then two does came in. I popped the biggest one (got both lungs, broadside at 20 yds) and the excited look on his face is something I'll NEVER forget!!!! Great first hunt. I think he's hooked.

Thanks guys. And yea I wanted to take him sooner but he kept saying no. I truly don’t know how MY SON could be such a lil Nancy but he was. So I told myself, it’ll happen when he’s ready. And it did. Getting him a crossbow for next year! He can’t pull a good bow back yet with those scrawny arms.
