Default my new cutting board

my new cutting board
my friend Andrew at Big Country Custom Cutting Boards
built me a custom maple, walnut & cherry cutting board
I had him make it 11"x16"x1"
so it would fit inside of an aluminum oven sheet pan
instead of having a juice groove cut around the edges
it's also 1/4" taller than the lip of the pan
so you won't hit the lip of the pan with your knife

How much does he charge to make something like that? That would be great for gifts.

Good thinking there. Now I know what my next woodworking project will be. Got to get it done before Thanksgiving and before I start on my Christmas gifts.

I like the idea of using the backing sheet. And the board looks really nice. I "liked" them on Facebook for future reference. https://www.facebook.com/bigcountrys...cuttingboards/

Beautiful work. I just gave them a plug on my Facebook page using your board.

This is awesome, great idea! I hate boards with grooves in them... The grooves don't catch juices worth a darn.
