    Building your own spin feeders?

Who all builds their own spin feeders? It seems like it is a while lot cheaper. Any suggestions on control units or other parts? Is there any way to build one bigger than a 55 gal drum?

I have. Ultramautiac Feeders is the only way to go for parts.

This is the one I built I got the barrel on here and bought everything else from them. It wasn’t cheap but you wont be disappointed.

Cant beat ASF control panels. I just ordered a bunch and have been impressed with the quality and performance. My neighbor has been using them for years with no issues.

Find yourself an 85 gallon barrel. Then get the parts from ultramatic feeders and the legs from HD

85 gallon barrel all day. Mine took a total of 10 bags last weekend.

This is my favorite DIY feeder design - no leaning a ladder, no cranking up and down. This one has been running for close to 15 years with the same Triple C timer/thrower. It would be easy to build with a 85 instead of a 55 barrel.

Agreed on with the 85 gal barrel. Mine is an 85 as well.

85 gallon drums all the way
Ladder is removable. Barrel on left has a drop tube on it now

Are there commercial metal lids for those 85 gallon drums?
With that much corn, a “breathable” lid seems important.
