    Painted gun stock

I bought a Remington 710 from a fellow tbh member and didn't really like the color do I decided to update it. I bought the gun knowing it was a cheaper alternative to the rem 700. I took the time to clean the action an bolt to rid them of the pasty assembly lube. Then I polished the locking lug of the bolt to help with the "sticky" action feel. After the lube I re assembled and checked my work, felt many times better. Next I devoted to free float the barrel. I was able to use 12,13,&14mm sockets wrapped in 250 grit sand paper checking the gap with notebook paper as I went. Then proceeded to paint the stock like tx_dropem showed us how in his write up. Here's the pics

Great looking paint job. BTW, if you haven't ever owned a 710, you won't be disappointed. They are cheap little rifles, but come in several calibers, I've had one for 6 years now that my wife bought for me, killed deer, coyote, and elk with it.

100yd shots three shots all touched. Set it up john_s style 1" high at 100yds. Steph looked at me like I was crazy lol. She couldn't believe I let paint get on the floor.

My friend turned up his nose at it until he shot it. The more we shot it the smother the bolt felt. It's an accurate gun and I couldn't beat the price tag.

It's an epoxy for garage floors. I'm not sure of the brand though.
