About 3 acres and 20ft deep
We had it completely reworked 2 years ago and stocked with bait fish last spring

That should work! Give them a couple years and you should have a good crappie hole for the kiddos.

Got around to doing inventory on my crappie and creek sand bass bag and I'm ready to hit these slabs hard this year! Gotta pick up a few more packs of thump buddies and some 1/32 jig heads but I'm good to go on my hand tieds!

Hoping my schedule will line up soon with yours mike!

I went yesterday. Got to my number one crappie hole that has been a good producer. Dropped my 1/16oz jig on my ultralight with 6lb test down 25 feet. Got a hit and set the hook. Took me a full 10 minutes to get that crappie in. I was afraid it was going to break my line so I dipped it out. Pic is at a downward angle. So you can't see it's true length of 20". Biggest crappie I've ever seen!

I caught a few more "regular" white crappie. But no keepers. That ^^^ was the only keeper I got. So I went on up to hole #3 and put some sandies in the boat. No crappie there either like has been over the past several weeks.

All the sandies I caught were females. Some had already spawned out. Some full of eggs. Did not catch a single sandie that was not legal. Smallest was 12". The striper was male and loaded!

Monday and Tuesday look like the next two most promising days weather wise and sun wise. Water flow was cut off yesterday up stream. I still had a little current yesterday. But if we get enough rain over the weekend, they will release some water again. And that is a good thing.

Last time I went, I found a huge school of fish on the graph in 22-27 foot of water, before the water came up. They were not there yesterday.

Battled the weather this past weekend in a local fishing club tournament. Ended up with 54 total and a 12 pound 5 ounce stringer of 10, was good enough for 1st place.

These were mostly 10-16' on brush leading into spawning coves. White hot thump chubbies were the bait of the day

Hopefully I can find some fish at Belton next weekend!!

Good mess of fish Slew. Good luck to ya next weekend on Belton.

I've been yank-n them up with Black and chartreuse mini tubes 2" with leadhead, colored or not. And 2" white YUM grub with leadhead. Seems like the Black and chartreuse as always been a producer of bigger crappie in almost any water I've fished around here in DFW over the years for some reason. Not sure why.

Been doing yard work all day! Finally got around to messing with the boat for the trip!! Greased the bearings and checked both props for line and did some waypoint management. Your butt hole puckers up a little bit when you hit delete all on 3400 waypoints but I think I got em all saved to some cards!! Guess we will see!!

Dang James! You can dang near put your fist in that first one's mouth.

Think I'm gonna have to take the boat back out again sometime over the next three days. Maybe all three.

Fished a different body of water today. Almost got skunked. But found them the last few minutes of the day in 2'-3' of water in the grass. Just wish I had brought more than 1.5 doz minnows. Cause that is about all they wanted. And the grass ate a lot of minnows too.

Noticed the half doz that I cleaned last night were all males. Surface temp was 62-63.

Also saw a rescue on the water yesterday. Sailboat had capsized on the main lake. County, city PD, fire, and water rescue were there. What I thought was a kayak with someone standing up in it was the keel of a sailboat. All persons were accounted for. Water Rescue had to break the mast off on the sailboat before they could get it to flip up-right. And tow it back to the ramp I was parked at. It was in the main river channel of the lake.

Another one is in the books!! Had a great day on the water! Team that beat us has a member that lives at Belton and has fished the lake a couple decades and said that was the biggest crappie he's ever caught on that lake and the biggest stringer. There's fish all over that lake! It fished real easy to me. I like lakes like that! We probably caught 200 or more in 3 days along with several nice catfish! I'm whipped! It's a haul from Belton to Tyler!

Caught a handful this evening. Had a few legal fish I threw back. They might shrink to illegal in the live well . Lost some at the boat. But only had 3 dink crappie. And 3 dink sandies. Fish were in 7-12 foot of water. Spawn is over on that lake.
