Howdy! There are scrapes everywhere around here. Acorns of every kind but those whiteoaks are special. The spot where you shot the 160 incher should be smoking this year.

Yes I have some interesting deer around. Got a couple of really nice deer that are killable right now but holding out for one in particular.

Give me a yell if you need help.

rattled some this past weekend. I tried to keep it light, more playful/sparring sounding,.Am I the only one, playing out a scene in my head when rattling, grunting? lol
I did not see anything. My brother had a small spike come up in ANF to rattling.

My experiences with rattling down there. Well not my experience as I've never tried it down there but on a cool morning I've heard 3 or 4 different people rattling way off in the distance. Could have been deer but I'm assuming people because of how frequent it was. So I look at it as the deer probably relate the rattle to people. Which I'm just babbling what do I know. All I know is I'd rather them come in not on full alert. I'll blow a grunt at them but I won't be tickling horns. Good luck everyone I'm headed down this weekend.

Headed down in a few mins and I'll be in the stand in the am along with gf and a buddy. Heard a few fighting before in previous years and one confirmed sighting waking up a guest hunter of ours. Not sure on timing this early though. Anxious for the morning and hopefully I'll get to propose

Everything set and GoPro ready to go. Moon has already set past horizon. Should be a good morning. Sorry lol can't sleep after seeing what I saw last Sunday morning and not being able to shoot and getting her ring ready for the possible proposal in the morning. Mind is going 90 to nothing atm.

I take my statement back. Wow what a week can do. Scrapes everywhere. Good bucks on camera and saw a giant on the road this morning, seems like he was working a scrape line from because I found 4 scrapes scrapes back in the woods. My dad is hunting that spot this evening. Goodluck

Lol he was young and looks bigger in the picture. His ears are back and it makes him look wider than he is. Im hunting for one of those bigger bucks in my photos above and a doe for meat. I have multiple 100" deer out of this forest. Let that one live to get bigger or be someone else's trophy. Don't get me wrong, as I type this in sitting in the tree thinking " what if nothing comes out today? Maybe I should have shot that buck from yesterday!" It's pretty cool and quiet. I'm hoping is a good morning. Camera ready to roll. I didn't see anything yesterday morning until 8:25am.

I sat til 10 this morning. Saw 11 deer between 7:15-8:00. 9 of those all fed under the same clump of oaks about 45 yards from me then walked away from me out in to the woods. I'm back in the same area but a little closer to them.

Looks like you found the right trees. Love seeing folks arrow deer on public land without baiting. That is a huge accomplishment . I bet some good bucks aren't far away if the does like that spot so much.

Not sure rather this is predictions or hopes... but I hope bucks will be cruising all day for doe this weekend with the cool weather. Should kick off the movement for sure. Going to pack a lunch and make a day of it. May get down to move but that's it. Not sure where I'll be yet.

I'm sure this thread will light up with buck sightings. Good weekend to put one on the ground.

This weekend oughta be good. Between the moon, the heat and the skeeters last weekend was brutal. I did see deer though, Sat morning I split air right over a big skillet heads back it was just miserable hunting. Ppl seeing many white oaks dropping acorns yet? The trees I was hunting this last weekend were loaded but not quite dropping yet, pin oaks were raining acorns though.

Anxious for this weekend and I did end up proposing the last time we went. She said yes. I had to use plan b but it worked after a beautiful weekend and some good videos.

She's going to take a break this weekend from the travels so I'll be out there with just a buddy of mine. Hope we all do well these coming days.

Well we just experienced one of the most intense ruts i have ever witnessed. There were so many does in heat at once that does were literally running bucks trying to take them from other does. Lots of does bred. We should have a great week ahead as the does get out of heat and the bucks start back looking.

FYI.... Thursday evening DID get our target buck on the ground.

Well just had 3 doe dead to their rights at 30 yards till one wouldn't take its last step out of the brush. Too thick to send an arrow through.

I experienced the same GarGuy. Thursday morning the bucks were on the move. Friday morning they were rutting pretty heavily. But it was south of the DCNF on some small private acreage.

Where you're seeing this was it in heavily timbered areas, or in open pasture/farmland? I'm hunting a pine plantation and we haven't seen chit. It's been sad, really.

There were five of us hunting. We all set up where we knew there were does. Every time a mature doe showed up there was either a buck with her of one there within five minutes. Only the fawns got to eat thursday evening. We had multiple does actually breeding and even had does that didnt have bucks with them run into the chase to flirt with bucks. Dad and i killed HiBeam and Johnnys son killed the monster 12pt he was sitting for that evening.

Mark had both shooters at his set but they ran a doe under him repeatedly and he couldnt get them stopped. I think he saw 6 different bucks. He was on acorns and we were on a food plot/hand corn.

Yep. When the does are close, the bucks work them hard. when the does are really popping, the scrapes go cold for a few days, then they get hit really hard again as most of the does cycle out.

Sitting in the stand. Dang this moon is bright. I grunted and rattled Friday evening. I had a doe come in with 6-7 different bucks with her. Every time I grunted she would come back. The big boy of the all was right on her tail the entire way. They got 30 yards from my tree but behind me. All I needed was another 20' to the right.

Sat morning had 3 does feed past me

Sat evening had a lone doe at 50yrds. I think it was the one from Friday but this time the bucks weren't with her. I'm assuming she got bred Friday and she's on her own now.

Maybe one of those other 3 will get some attention my way. Good luck guys

I'm going to give it a shot too. When I checked my cam I had more pictures from 12-4 pm than all other times combined. I HATE trying to sit all day but its probably going to need to happen.

I've tried it a couple times and I can tell you it's darn near impossible. I can honestly say I've never made it all day. Tried 3-4 times and always end up getting down around 3-4
