Default Nikon software...

I have been reading some of the post and noticed no one is using Nikon Capture. I may have missed one... I shoot NEF + jpeg, if I don't open my NEF file with capture then I've lost a lot of image due to the horizontal compression with nikon. The size difference of the final image is very appealing to photo editors.

Photos: My Photobucket Page (just upgraded to Pro!)

Brand: Nikon (the good stuff)

Body: D80

Lenses: Standard Nikkor fare

Other equipment: Nikon SD200 Flash, Cheap tripod, Pelican case, 2 kayaks, a little bit of vision, and one big imagination.

Editing software: Honestly, not really anything. I need some good software. One of these days...

Experience: I've been into graphic arts and design fora very, very long time. I developed an interest in photography in my very late teens and used a very finicky Canon EOS for a while before giving it up for a long time. I got into digital photography with a Sony Mavica in 1999 and kept upgrading until I finally got back to a DSLR with my D80 kit purchased in 2006. It's been a great ride ever since!

Favorite shots: I love shooting on the water, from my kayak. That is by far my favorite, and I especially like flora photography and catching the amazing waterfowl & other creatures of my waterways. I also really enjoy working with models when I can, but I find that it is very difficult to get the model you want who will carry the attitude you need, so I tend to prefer landscapes; they don't talk back.

Added a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L into the equipment list tonight.

Picked up a Canon Speedlite 580EX II flash unit several months ago for the Canon 50D.

Adobe Lightroom 3 picked up after Lightroom 3 Beta ran out (June).

Shopping around for a Canon 5D Mark II body - slightly used or new. Hovering around 2K and change right now - really want to add a full frame body into the landscape mix.

Update

Now shooting Nikon D7000. I'm digging the ability to shoot ISO's at 3200 with cool results.

Name: nikon-mb-d11-multi-power-battery-pack-front.jpg
Views: 1898
Size: 17.1 KB

Also added a battery pack and a Sigma 17-50 in 2.8.

Made the switch to iMac and now processingg with Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3.0.

Going to try and get a web presence outside of flickr in the near future.

www.ComeAndTakeItCreative.com (not yet live) is a joint venture with Cameron Gott. Turn us loose on your event.

I have extra SD cards if anyone is interested.

I may sell a used and abused D200 as well.

Favorite subjects are hummingbirds just because it is so challenging to get a great photo of them.

Update: I returned the Tamrac Expedition 8X shortly after I bought it. It was just to big and I got the 5X instead and I also added a Manfrotto tripod with a Manfrotto ball head.

Update:
I finally got my new Nikon D7000 about a month ago. Looking to get a 300mm AF-S f/4 in the near future hopefully, as well as the extra battery grip for my new camera.
