At least while your standing, should a mishap occur, the ground ain't so far.

My brother pushed me off the roof (10 ft) when we were about 11 & 12. Landed flat on my back and almost sucked every bit of oxygen out of the world.

        Let me rephrase that.

At least while "we're" standing, should a mishap occur, the ground ain't so far.
(I remember once while at Cinnamon Creek Ranch, Smart, who had a pretty good dose of whiskey, started to come say "Hi" after I arrived. And stumbled toward me, falling into me. )

A guy I know leaned a ladder against the very same tree branch that he was going to cut with his chainsaw. He cut to the outside, but when the long end of the branch fell away, the end that his ladder was resting on went up because the weight that kept it sagging instantly went away. He went down with the ladder and a running chainsaw and got cut up pretty good. I was working patrol in town that day when I heard EMS getting dispatched to the incident on a road I grew up on. I thought, "darn that's one unlucky dude today." I found out about 6 months later that it was my high school friend's dad, as his dad was telling me the story, when I bumped into him in town. He ran the above details down to me. Lol.

I hunted with a man for 20+ years.

He fell off a ladder blowing leaves from his gutter.

            It cost him his life.

            Glad you are OK

I jumped off a roof when I was about fourteen. My daddy said if he caught me up there again he was gonna bust my ***, so when I saw him coming down the road the decision was easy. A little pain in the sack but otherwise ok !

Lost a good friend at the age of 19 the same way in 2005.

                Sidewalks are killers.

                Glad you’re okay OP.

If you have appendicitis and post-Obamacare insurance it’s $5900.

I fell/slid off a roof once. Luckily I was younger and it was thick grass. I just bounced and got back up...no injuries. I was lucky.

Small cut on my hand that was glued shut was $970. I had insurance and it still cost almost $600. Only reason I even went to the ER is because my wife was sure it would need stitches and made me go.

Sorry to hear that. I lost one of my best friends at 26 when his TV antenna fell into a powerline while he was handling it. Freak accident.
