Default Playing with the forge and grinder

Been grinding and heat treating some blades.
I wonder if the edge of this 8" Bowie blade will be hard?
I will put wood on the Bowie and the old fashioned curved skinner has blue/black micarta that is gonna be sharp looking. Lot of work left to do on these.
I have some 1/4" CruForgeV Carbon Steel coming and I been thinking bout making me a big ol Gurkha killing blade. Think maybe I will put me a window AC unit in my little shop. It was hot in there today. Gonna be even hotter if'n I start hammering on 2000 deg steel bar.

Why aren’t you sure if the edge is hard? Did you try a file on it?

Oh yeah. It skates. Took a good while to get it sharpened. Typical brine quenched W2. I put a convex edge using 600 slack belt so it will do some chopping and still shave.

DAGNABBIT! Dropped in on the concrete at the grinder this morning. And it could have been a masterpiece too. Caca happens. Was gonna be a hidden tang skinner out of CrueforgeV2.
