Default The Taj Mahal Needs Solar Power

I turned a 10'X10' storage building into a deer blind (rifle). I want to be able to run a small color TV, satellite TV receiver, radio, and charger for my iPhone.

I know I need a deep cycle battery, solar panel, inverter, and wiring but I am not sure what size, etc. of all that stuff I need! I am sure there are other needs that I am not aware of.

I'd like to be able to watch TV and charge my phone for about 4 hours on Friday and all day/night on Saturdays.

Help me put together a parts list so I can watch football on Saturdays from the deer stand!

Try this setup. I bought one for my small cabin for running lights, chargers, etc. This will be the first season with it so the jury is out.

My question would be, how long will a battery run a tv and sat box?
Can you fit enough panels on the system to recharge fast enough to replace the drain.

My question is, in the off season are ya gonna rent that out as a bed and breakfast? Drop in a window unit and you're good to go. Maybe even dig out a below ground hot tub that doubles as a water source for huntin' season...give me a little time, I could think of lots of updates for ya

Nice! A cot, hot plate, and mini-fridge, and you never have to go back to camp.

Would love to see inside and outside pictures of the finished product.

For a full day you will probablay need to run 2 deep cycle batteries together (run parrall + to+ - to -).
That kit that was posted above is probably the best price you will find and that wattage will charge a battery pretty quick.
Great setup.

I've got an old Dearborn heater that I converted from natural gas to propane. It gets it toasty in there.

I see that you have some shade on the roof. Is that on both sides? You really need full sun all day. BTW, what are the pill bottles for?

I'll cut the trees back for full sun. I put cotton balls & doe pee in the pill bottles and then chunk em around the area I'm hunting.

Except when you are playing Madden and it's a little heated and you do the jump and stomp. Then all the animals runaway.

Just jack it up and put an old trailer axle under it, and then don't underpin it. You'll be good!
