Here is my Grendel. 16” barrel. Haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet. My vote is grendel because it is a growing popular caliber.

I've got a LaRue UU kit. Actually two of them. 18" barrels and they've been really great so far. I can only attest to one of them as the other is unfired, but if OP wants it we could make a deal and I'll keep the lower. Trophy8 is always looking for a LaRue lower.....

        Let me know!

Why not just use better ammo in the 7.62x39? It's the best of both worlds. Grendel is the Honda Ridgeline of cartridges but people really seem to like it.

6.8 Vrs 6.5 G is basically a tie - with the tie going to (for me) whichever one has cheap ammo available. I don't see anything that isn't about $1/round for the 6.8. Wolf makes 100 gr FMJ in 6.5 Grendel & it's normally $5/box of 20.

Cheap plinking is a plus & I have found this Wolf ammo to be pretty accurate too.

Or, yes, use better 7.63X39 ammo.

For shorter distances (up to 300 or 400) 6.8 spc
                  For longer distances (500 - 800) 6.5 grendel

6.8 is pretty good out of a 16" barrel
6.5 grendel barrel length is optimal around 18" - 20"
