If you have a local Whitecap construction supply we have 4' T posts that are cheaper and suit the hog panels better.

We fenced off 2 massive areas on our place in Rusk Co. a few years back. Never had a single buck that would come into the pen to eat and only a handful of does. Our deer are some kind of finicky. Finally had to go in and take down 2 sides, because corn was piling under the feeder long enough to sour. Now we just take our chances with the hogs and see a lot more deer and try to hand corn spots when we can for mature bucks.

If you are really interested here is a study done by A&M on the subject that will answer any question you have.

I had a 12 panel pen that I used in Trinity. Bucks and does lived inside of it from May - Sept. I would get a few pics of does during the season but never a buck inside of it during hunting season. Bucks would come up to it and walk along the edges.

Buy the shorter t posts. Won't have to cut tops off.

same as most others have commented

I built a 10 panel pen and only doe used it sparingly. finally took it down to at least shoot pigs. I'm in an area with tons of hardwoods and acorns though. Might work better in all pines or something.

X2-plus we over lap our panels by one row or section of wire.
Our pens our usually 14-16 panels total.

I use 8 panels and measure 20' 11" from center to get it to be a perfect octagon!

Occasionally a deer will impale themselves on them.
