What exactly was the lacquer you coated it with?

Lacquer is made by several manufacturers but it's still lacquer. I use a satin gloss Sherwin Williams and buy it by the gallon for my sprayer.

When Harvey rolled through his winds pushed a few bull mesquite over in the bottom on the San Antone, took them to the mill Tuesday and picked them up this morning.....

HOLY COW! That is amazing work! I have a question about the epoxy. Is it on there strictly for looks, or does it add enough structural integrity that it is a necessity?

Thanks! Yes that epoxy is for both aesthetic purposes and structural strengthening of the wind checked mesquite. I have used a hot melt knot filler as well in the past that is mostly just for aesthetics on the small stuff.

No sir I'd rather not, I have several projects in mind for it. There are a few people that do though.

How are you getting the wood that smooth after removing everything you want off of it? Awesome work
