Default Fishing trip rant.

My brothers, nephews and I take a trip to Matagorda every spring. We call it our "No whiners tour". No women or children allowed. They all live in the Collin County area. We should be leaving 4/24 but Dallas and all surrounding areas are on lockdown. The house we rent gives no refunds and as soon as this mess is over will continue with their normal bookings so we can't even rebook for later. This will be my first real inconvenience from the Coronavirus. My rant is over. Thanks for listening.

And now next year y’all will have to come up with a whole new name for the spring trip.

Yep. Same here in Burlytown till April 13th at earliest, which is split by Tarrant and Johnson cntys. But as of Friday, Johnson cnty is now on lockdown too. Just got my boat float worthy last Saturday. And "was" looking forward to taking it out this Sunday.

I don't fish the summer time due to the heat. And my boat gets winterized come June 1st. So I may not have a spring season to fish. Ain't been out hunting for fishing since end of May 2019.

Just hope this is all worth it, for everyone's sake. I've got aging parents in their 80s. And a bit of family that many don't know about on here.

So what’s the problem? Are they telling you you can’t stay at the house? Right now dallas SIP is until 4/3 and there is no travel restrictions so even if it was still active I wouldn’t understand. I would be going.

Our “shelter at home” says you can “engage in outdoor activity, as long as you follow the rules of social distancing” y’all should at least draw straws for what household gets to go. Members from the same household don’t have to stay 6’ apart from my understanding.

why cant you go? did the house owners cancel your reservation? All the mandatory SIP orders allow you to travel that I have seen, in reality there is nothing mandatory about them....lol

Gorda beaches are closed, but I think the harbor boat ramp is still open. Unless you were planning on fishing the surf, I'd still go.

The harbor ramps and cleaning tables are closed. Folks can still launch on the river - for now.

I live in Collin county. They issued a shelter in place but left all businesses open and they’re not stopping and asking people why they’re out. They can leave and go fishing if they want to.

Man some of y’all take this SIP order way to serious. I guess I’ve never been one to follow the rules and have always questioned authority. I wouldn’t even think about not going fishing, or do whatever I want. FYI I also live in a SIP county

The wife and i went to Edom today from Mesquite. I-20 traffic was close to normal. Her father was doing ok from recent surgery and we came back home. No issues. I wouldn't let the SIP stop me from a fishing trip, we may go to lavon on monday if i can get the grandson to catch up on his chores.

I have a different question. I can guarantee you this would not hold up 5 minutes if placed on the Attorney Generals desk. I would communicate with the renters directly and gingerly remind them of what is going on. We have cancelled two events and two trips...……...100% reimbursement of ALL monies with zero push back or any questions asked.

We are SIP and went fishing yesterday...no whining from this woman Except the whine that sounded like this....I want to go back tomorrow!

So, boat is ready and we are pulling out in 10 minutes.

The ramps are still open for a reason. Take advantage of it.

I don't think you all get it. I bet the problem is not going to the beach during lockdown but leaving the wives 24/7 home with the kids during the lockdown. Sacrifice now for peaceful hunting in the fall.
