    Crowing chicken?

Got a hen that started crowing today. We've had chickens for over 10 years, and this is a first for me. My wife hatched this chicken in her classroom about 5 years ago. We lost 2 of our last 3 chickens a couple months ago, and she is the only one we have left. Heard a weird noise on the porch this afternoon and looked out and she was crowing like a young rooster. Anyone ever had a hen do this? Is it like a menopause for chickens thing? If anyone is thinking it's a rooster, I have a different question for you. Have you ever seen a rooster lay eggs? Couldn't get video today, but will try if I catch her doing it again.

              Lol. Here’s what google says
A hen can crow like a rooster. I am not making this up and it isn’t an old wives tale. It doesn’t happen in a regular flock with a rooster present, but in small backyard flocks with just female chickens, although it is rare, it is not unheard of.

I’ve had affectionate hens follow me around and sing. They ended up being pets. Just like a puppy dog, almost.

I've had chickens for a big part of my life. I've had one hen over the years that would crow.

I had an older gentleman that lived next to me at the time. He said it's bad luck to have a hen that would crow. Not sure about all that but I decided to fry her anyways just in case.

My dad's neighbor has had a hen that would crow as well.

I had the opposite. Chickening crow.

Growing up my family found an young injured crow and took it in. After a while it would just walk around the farm yard and cluck like a chicken. It would follow us kids around the yard.

Eventually it moved into a cage in the house and learned to talk pretty clearly.
